Vorträge und Workshops zum Thema “Zero Waste” zu geben macht totalen Spaß.
Und auch das Interesse ist jedes Mal wirklich groß.
Die Naturschutzjugend (Naju) des Nabu veranstaltet alle zwei Jahre das Jugendumweltfestival “Crash the trash” / “Trashbusters” und diesmal durften wir mit dabei sein!
Am Pfingstsonntag gaben wir zwei Workshops für je 20 Jugendliche zum Thema “Zero Waste” und waren begeistert, wie interessiert und wissbegierig die beiden Gruppen waren.
Sie haben sich total eingebracht, neue Ideen gehabt und total toll mitgemacht.
Wir hatten echt ne Menge Spaß.

Beim Trashbusters Festival ging es im Wesentlichen darum, die Gewässer von
Plastikmüll zu befreien.
Es gab viele Workshops und Beiträge zu dem Thema.
Auch verschiedene Challenges, Spiele und Ralleys wurden veranstaltet.
Ein kleines Highlight unsererseits war, dass wir Milena von Original Unverpackt kennenlernen durften, die den ersten verpackungsfreien Supermarkt in Berlin eröffnet hat. Wir haben ein bisschen mit ihr gequascht und Snapchat-Quatsch gemacht. Herrlich!

Ganz spannend fanden wir, dass die Fläming Kitchen für das Festival gekocht haben.
Nicht nur nachhaltig und vegan, sondern auch mit B-Ware Lebensmitteln, die ansonsten im Container gelandet wären. Tolle Sache!!!
Das ganze Trashbusters Team war so nett. Alle waren so bemüht und zuvorkommend.
Wir haben sogar noch einen coolen und nachhaltigen Turnbeutel geschenkt bekommen.
Für uns war es eine großartige Erfahrung. Wir hatten echt einen tollen Tag, wenn auch das Wetter nicht immer mitgespielt hat.

Giving workshops about zero waste can really be a lot of fun!
Recently we were invited to give workshops at the “Crash the trash” / “Trashbusters” Festival, which is a youth festival every other year organized by the Naju, the youth organization of Nabu.
We led two workshop with each about 20 people and were amazed by the interest and creativity of the participants.
We had so much fun!
The festival was organized to sharpen the awareness of plastic trash in waters and there were many workshops and talks about this topic.
Challenges, Games and Ralleys throughout the weekend completed the offer for the youngsters.

One of our highlights on that Sunday was, that we got to meet Milena from Original Unverpackt. She opened the first bulk store in Berlin and is an amazing woman.
We had a little chat with her and had some fun snapchatting. So great!
The food, that was served by Fläming Kitchen on the festival was delicious, vegan and – this is so “zero waste”! – completely cooked from veggies that were sorted out (to be thrown away…) before getting to the supermarket because they were “too ugly” to sell.
The whole Trashbusters team was really nice and we felt perfectly at ease once we got there.
In the end we even got a cool, organic cotton backpack for taking part in the festival!
So for us it was a great day and a wonderful experience – although the weather could have been better that day 😉 We hope to return next time!
